I have been fascinated by the scenery of the microcosm that happens to appear on the cross section of minerals or the surface of Asian pottery for many years.

Since it wasn't quite enough to please me to appreciate precious stones, ceramic works, the surface of the lake where ice had melted and the decayed walls, I began to create such scenery by myself with Japanese paper and resin.

I'd like to create multi-layered texture which doesn't look artificial, but natural texture created by chance and passage of time.

Therefore, I came up with the technique of tearing and pasting Japanese paper so that no artificial brush strokes would remain.

Until the moment when the texture seems to be absolutely right, I keep stacking layers of Japanese paper.

The right moment is when the scenery makes me forget time and feel like to live in the microcosm.

On this piece, which imitates a fictional planet, while traveling to various points with your eyes, you can sit on a textured part like a cliff with a sharp edge, or get lost in thought at a place that looks like a waterside. There is a lot of fun here and there.

You can take a look deep into the layers, or run your eyes in parallel to think of a country somewhere far away.

The spatial axis of foreign countries or another planet intersects with the imaginary time axis of past history, sad memories, and the utmost happiness that someone (or some creature) will experience in the future. At this point, the moment feels like eternity.

鉱物の断面や陶器の表面に偶然現れる小宇宙の景色に長年魅了されてきました。

貴石や陶芸作品、また自然界においては氷の溶けかかった湖面や朽ちた壁面などを鑑賞するのに飽き足らず、自らその景色を和紙と樹脂を重ねることで創出するようになりました。

人の手によらない偶然の産物であるかのような、時の経過さえ感じさせる重層的な質感を目指しています。

そこで人為的な筆致が残らないよう、和紙をちぎって貼り付ける技法へ行き着きました。

正しいと感じられる質感が立ち現れる瞬間まで、何層にも和紙を重ねては修正します。

私にとって正しいと感じられる仕上がりは、ずっと見つめたまま時を忘れてその小宇宙で暮らしたくなるような景色です。

架空の惑星を模したこの作品には、色々な地点へと目で旅しながら、エッジのきいた断崖の様な質感の箇所に腰掛けたり、水辺に見立てた箇所で物思いにふけったりする楽しみがあちこちにあります。

重層的なレイヤーの奥へ垂直に目を向けたり、あるいは水平に視線を走らせてどこか遠い国に想いを馳せます。遥か彼方の知らない国や別の惑星といった空間軸と、過去の歴史や悲しい思い出、どこかの誰かが（あるいは何かしらの生物が）未来に味わうこのうえない幸福、などという想像の時間軸が交差することで、一瞬が永遠のようにも感じられます。

As the outdoors get colder, winter sweets and decorations bloom in the rooms.

Visual joy is gold and silver glitter, crimson, orange, and green colors reminiscent of the rich fruits that are difficult to obtain in winter.

Auditory joy is a hard tremolo of glass, bells, and metal come into contact with each other .

Fragrance joy is the sweetness of dried fruits. And the scent of woody spice play bass in this orchestration of the scent.

Tactile joy is the contrast between the soft cat or the colorful yarn and the cold snow.

In the midwinter, my inner space is filled with these happy and warm motifs.

屋外がしんしんと寒さを深めるにつれ、室内には冬ならではのお菓子と装飾が花開きます。

視覚からは金銀のきらめきと、真紅、橙、緑色の、冬に得難い豊かな実りを彷彿させる色彩の饗宴。

聴覚からはガラス、鈴、金属が触れ合う硬質なトレモロ。

嗅覚からは林檎、オレンジ、アプリコット、チェリー等のドライフルーツが醸す甘い調べに、ウッドとスパイスが低音を奏でる香りのオーケストレーション。

触覚からは冷たく固い氷雪に重ねて映える柔らかな猫とカラフルな毛糸の喜ばしいコントラスト。

厳冬にこそ私のインナースペースは幸福な温かみに身体が痺れるほどの豊穣なモチーフで満ち溢れます。

For me, the Moon is like a thin, cold and slightly sweet plate, so I count it as one slice of the Moon.

私にとって月は、つめたく薄く仄かに甘いプレートのようなものなので、１枚、２枚と数えます。

Here is my all time appetizing and sweet looking piece.

The image of cool and harden skim milk and honey with

glazed cherries, orange peels and apricots. 

今回は食欲をそそる甘いお菓子のような一片です。

砂糖漬けのチェリー、オレンジピールやアプリコットをスキムミルクと蜂蜜で冷やし固めたイメージを形にしました。

Two pieces with different textures inspired by the precious stone, "Watermelon Tourmaline".

The hard candy version is condensed with many layers.

The fruit jelly version has light texture with cool transparency.

貴石のウォーターメロントルマリンに着想を得た、質感の異なる２点です。

ハードキャンディーバージョンはたっぷりと何層ものレイヤーを重ねて固めています。

フルーツゼリーバージョンは涼し気な透明度を大切に、軽めの質感で仕上げています。

Modestly colored amethyst and tourmaline look calming and refreshing in summer season.I don't trust the spiritual writings about precious stones at all, but it simply purifies my mind to look inside of those cool-colored and ice-like crystals.

The culture of appreciating stones and minerals has spread from east to west. It fascinates introverted lovers who indulge in the beauty of the microcosm. When appreciating the ore, we minimize ourselves and travel inside the stone. Like an explorer in an endless limestone cave, we forget the time and sail while feeling the hard texture of the crystals.

Precious stones such as amethyst and tourmaline are sprinkled with inclusions such as air bubbles, other minerals, insects, plant fragments and crystals, which also give a complex taste.

There are cats in my production environment, so if you look closely, the cat's hair is sometimes trapped inside the resin.

Ziggy is 10 years old and weighs nearly 7 kg.

He often falls on the floor in summer.

I found the white hair on his belly, which was heart-shaped.

控えめな発色のアメジストとトルマリンは、夏季に精神を落ち着かせる清涼剤のような貴石です。

私は貴石にまつわるスピリチュアルな能書きを信用しませんが、単純に涼し気な氷に似た結晶体の奥を見つめて脳内で旅すると、心が浄化されるのです。

石や鉱物を鑑賞する文化は古今東西に渡り、小宇宙の美へ耽溺する内向的な好事家達を魅了してきました。鉱石を鑑賞する折に、人は自身を極小化させて石の内部へと旅立ちます。果てなき鍾乳洞を進む探検家のように、つめたい結晶の硬質な響きを愛おしみながら、時を忘れて航行します。

アメジストやトルマリンのような貴石には、気泡、他の鉱物、昆虫、植物のかけら、結晶といった内包物が散見され、これらがまた複雑な味わいをもたらします。

私の制作環境には猫がいるため、よくよく鑑賞するとたまに猫の毛が樹脂の内部へ閉じ込められています。

Ziggyは10歳になり、体重が７kg近くあります。

夏は床にぼってり落ちていることが多いです。

お腹の白い毛を見たらハート形になっていました。
